Tilbuster Pumpkin Run

PATH_PumpkinRun

The annual Tilbuster Pumpkin Run will be held again in 2016 and with the assistance of many community organisations and benefactors; Pathfinders are ready to make it bigger than previous years.

Planning and planting is well underway with over 1000 pumpkin seeds in the ground and with the generous support of the Northern Tablelands Local Land Services, Tankworks and the Vincent Fairfax Family Foundation an irrigation system and tank has been acquired, built and installed.

With the assistance of Tilbuster’s project coordinator, Charlie Winter, many young people have been involved from laying the pipe through to building the tank. Not only will this water grow the vegetables, it will also supply water to troughs for the cattle which will also enable rehabilitation of Tilbuster Ponds creek which runs through the property.

Thanks for your support

The aim of the Pumpkin Run has always been to give back to the community, growing and supplying fresh vegetables, especially pumpkins, to refuges, nursing homes and to feed those less fortunate.

The Pumpkin Run commences from Armidale in April and will finish in the middle of Sydney’s CBD at Government House where His Excellency General The Honourable David Hurley generously invited Pathfinders during his visit to our Inverell office earlier this year.
