National Sorry Day 2026
26 May All day
National Sorry Day, held annually on May 26th in Australia, is a day to acknowledge the history and ongoing impacts of the forced removal of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children from their families, known as the “Stolen Generations”. It commemorates the tabling of the Bringing Them Home report in 1997, promoting healing, truth-telling, and reconciliation by reflecting on past injustices and the resilience of First Nations communities, leading into National Reconciliation Week.
