Specialised Disability Accommodation
Pathfinders is a local disability services provider and is delighted to announce the availability of Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) in Armidale. Partnering with ADAPT Housing, a renowned organisation specialising in disability housing, this initiative aims to offer high-quality accommodation for individuals with extreme functional impairment or very high support needs in the heart of the New England Tablelands.
The accommodation projects currently under construction are designed to provide High Physical Support for SDA tenants with everything they require to live independently. These thoughtfully designed homes offer a perfect blend of space, flexibility, and privacy, ensuring that residents can enjoy their personal space with private ensuite and patios, while also benefiting from shared communal areas.

The SDA dwellings in Armidale boast a high level of physical accessibility, with provisions for a variety of High Physical Support requirements, including ceiling hoists, automation of doors and windows, emergency backup power, and 24/7 onsite supports. Residents will also relish the opportunity to enjoy the natural serenity of Armidale while still having access to essential amenities, such as Health and Medical services, local grocery stores, shopping centers, restaurants, museums, and more, all within just 7 minutes’ drive from their front door.
Pathfinders will complement the SDA housing with Supported Independent Living (SIL) support, offering round-the-clock on-site assistance to participants. This support includes cooking and cleaning, personal care, shopping assistance, and promotion of participation in household and community activities.

Featuring a high level of physical accessibility, the home is provisioned to support the inclusion of a variety of High Physical Support requirements, such as ceiling hoist, automation of doors and windows, emergency back-up power and 24/7 onsite supports.
Thoughtfully designed residents will be able to maximize their opportunity to enjoy their personal space with private ensuite and patios, whilst not having to sacrifice on shared common areas with expansive communal areas for residents to enjoy.
