About me
My name is Matthew, and I am thrilled to share a bit about myself with you. I hail from the vibrant town of Inverell, though my journey started in Victoria. At the tender age of 2, I embarked on a series of adventures, moving from Darwin to Grafton and finally settling in Glen Innes.
My professional journey started at 13, working in a fruit market while also attending school. At 14, I began supporting individuals with disabilities at an organisation providing work placements across various sectors like recycling, horticulture, and sewing. Working alongside my disabled Uncle in
horticulture and helping with recycling collection, I found passion for making a difference.
In adulthood, I embraced fatherhood and marriage, cherishing moments with my blended family. My passion for assisting those in need was reignited during my time at Inverell Radio Cabs. Transitioning to full-time work in disability transport, I found immense fulfilment supporting residents.
Seeking to do more, I joined Pathfinders, drawn to their commitment to empowering individuals with disabilities.
Beyond work, I find joy in simple pleasure like riding my motorbike, fishing, and woodworking. Family time is precious to me, whether it’s cooking together, camping, or tending to our family garden.
My passion for working with people with disabilities stems from witnessing the incredible care my relatives received decades ago. I believe in the transformative power of support and strive to be a part of an evolving industry that enriches lives. I’m eager to bring my experience and enthusiasm to this new chapter, continuing to make a meaningful impact.
