Foster Care Week
This week we thank our remarkable foster carers, who make a lasting difference in the lives and futures of our children and young people everyday.
This year’s theme, Today’s Carers, Tomorrow’s Future, highlights the essential role foster carers play in shaping the futures of the children and young people in their care. To honour our carers this year, we’ve commissioned a unique artwork for each of our carers that symbolises the connection between carers and children.
The artwork beautifully captures the journey children and young people take toward a new home, where carers stand ready with open arms. The stepping stones represent the path to healing for both the child and the carer, as they walk together toward hope and a brighter future.
Foster Care Week is not only a time to celebrate carers, but also to raise awareness about the importance of providing a safe, secure home and the life-changing role that carers play in shaping the futures of children and young people.
Pathfinders Foster care team proudly supports a variety of carers statewide through extensive assessment and training, followed by ongoing support from our experienced caseworkers and Therapeutic Specialists. The commitment, compassion and dedication of our carers, provide children and young people with the stability, love and a sense of belonging, creating an environment where young people can grow, heal, develop confidence, and thrive.
