Day 2 of the Pumpkin Run kicked off bright and early with the team heading straight into action at Soul Hub in Newcastle!
Soul Hub is a dedicated community charity that provides comprehensive support and hot meals to vulnerable, disadvantaged, or homeless individuals. Powered by a passionate team of volunteers and staff, their mission of care and dignity aligns strongly with Pathfinders values, making it the perfect place to begin another impactful day.
Inside the kitchen, Pathfinders staff, young people, and volunteers got stuck in, preparing fresh pumpkins alongside the Soul Hub team, ready for the lunch service. There was a real sense of energy and purpose as everyone worked together, turning preparation into something meaningful for the community.
Once lunch service wrapped up, the impact didn’t stop there! The Pumpkin Run team took to the streets of Newcastle, sharing pumpkins directly with community members and spreading a little warmth, conversation, and Pumpkin Run spirit along the way.
Meanwhile, smaller groups branched out across the city, visiting Headspace, Allambi Care, and OzHarvest. At each stop, pumpkins were shared and connections were made, celebrating the incredible work these organisations do every day in supporting their communities.
A huge thank you goes to the Soul Hub team for their warm welcome and generosity, giving our young people the opportunity to be part of such a powerful and uplifting day in action.
