Our Foster Care recruiter Kylie Giles was invited to Duval High to speak to Year 12 students in the CAFS (Community and Family Studies) class. CAFS is a two year course offered to senior students. Through this course students study family structures, functions and the role communities play- including the role and structure of Government bodies and other community support networks.
Foster care, child protection and the importance of these supports are a major component of their study. The students were very interested to hear about the child protection system and how it works in partnership with agencies, such as Pathfinders. They were prepared with some very thoughtful questions and insight into factors which impact on the safety and well-being of CYP in our community.
