Pumpkin Run Day 3 – Newtown Mission and Addi Road, Sydney

Day 3 of the 2026 Pumpkin Run brought the team to Sydney, ready for another big day of community generosity!

The morning kicked off at Newtown Mission, where staff, volunteers, and young people worked together to unload and prepare pumpkins ahead of the Mission’s lunch service. There was a strong sense of teamwork and purpose as the space quickly filled with activity and anticipation for the day ahead.

Newtown Mission is a vibrant, community-focused church delivering outreach programs that support vulnerable local residents. Within the Mission operates Jordan Café, a safe and inclusive drop-in space offering free weekly community meals, hospitality, and a welcoming environment for people experiencing homelessness, hardship, or social isolation.

The Pumpkin Run team were warmly welcomed into this space and immediately got to work alongside staff and volunteers, helping prepare and serve lunch to community members. After the meal service, the energy continued onto the streets, where the team handed out bags of pumpkins to passers-by, filling the streets with a sea of orange!

The journey then continued to Addi Road Community Organisation, where the team delivered a generous donation of pumpkins to support their Food and Pantry Kitchen, helping to further their incredible work tackling food insecurity in the community.

A heartfelt thank you to both Newtown Mission and Addi Road Community Organisation for welcoming the Pumpkin Run team so warmly and giving us an insight into the vital work they continue to do every day!
