Yesterday our Support Your Path team attended the Living Well Expo at the Coffs Harbour Exhibition Hall and got our name out there as an enthusiastic and passionate Disability Service Provider within the community. The Living Well Expo is held annually and attracts on average 2,000 participants from far and wide.
Hosted annually by Blue Sky Community Services, the Living Well Expo works in partnership with other community services, businesses and mainstream community groups to hold an expo that offers a chance for members of the community, the elderly, people with disabilities or chronic conditions and their families and carers to expand their knowledge and gain information on what supports they can access to improve their health and, live well!
The day was full of entertainment, with over 50 exhibitors, guest speakers including Professor Colleen Cartwright, Lily Norman, Emma Lawson and David Thorpe, giveaways, activities, food stalls, and an opportunity to try out a range of equipment and mobility options. Not only has this expo allowed for people to go away with an abundance of resources to ensure they are feeling equipped when making choices about their support networks, it also means they had fun while they were at it!
Sami, our Senior Disabilities Coordinator, said ” Being part of this expo was incredibly rewarding, as it allowed us to engage with new participants and explore the wide range of supports available in the Coffs Harbour area. Whether it’s for community engagement or life skills development, it’s clear there are an increasing number of fantastic supports and products now available. It was a great day for us as service providers to see what else is out there to help our clients live and achieve the very best in their lives.”
