At the start of September, Dylan and Bec from Pathfinders in Inverell, in partnership with GambleAware NSW, visited Ashford Central School to deliver a presentation on the hidden links between gambling and gaming.
The GambleAware program helps both students and staff to better understand the growing influence of gambling in today’s digital world. The presentation walked students through how certain aspects of gaming can closely resemble gambling, emphasising the importance of recognising these connections.
By breaking down the ways gambling promotions target young audiences, the presentation equipped students with the awareness to navigate these challenges into the future.
