Pathfinders Inverell Family Youth Support Service and the Inverell Linking Together Centre enjoyed a day on the water with JA Tours – Joeys Adventure Kayaking Tours at lake Inverell.
The day started off a little overcast with some light rain, but this didn’t stop the staff and young people from taking part in the 8:30am start and a 9km kayaking activity around the beautiful Lake Inverell.
After a long paddle, taking in the scenic surroundings and wildlife, stopping to take some amazing pictures of a kingfisher and sea eagles the group stopped to have breakfast and refreshments. After refuelling the group continued paddling up the river taking in the sun as the weather eased.
The tour guide Heinrich was a book of knowledge, sharing lots of information about the wildlife and the local ecosystem. All the young people who learnt so much are hoping for another chance to participate in this amazing activity.
Pathfinders Inverell Family Youth Support Services and Linking Together are working together on a plan to deliver this activity again in the future.
