16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence

From 25 November to 10 December, Pathfinders stands with communities across the world for the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence a global campaign led by UN Women, calling for the prevention and elimination of violence against women and girls.

We all deserve to be safe, equal and respected. Yet more than one in three women have experienced violence from men — a reminder that safety and respect are not guaranteed in any community. It doesn’t have to be this way.

This year’s UN Women international theme is: UNiTE to End Digital Violence against All Women and Girls

Digital abuse is one of the fastest-growing forms of gender-based harm, and protecting the online safety of women and girls is a critical part of achieving gender equality. Here in Australia, the message is clear: Safe. Everywhere. Always. A woman should be safe no matter where she is at home, at work, online, in public, or in her community.
