The Inverell Women & Children’s Refuge recently received a generous donation of new toys for the playroom, thanks to the kindness of the Inverell Women’s Golf Club.
“Each year, the ladies donate money to support a local charity, and this year we wanted to give something special to the children,” said Lyn O’Brien from the club.
The club had a wonderful time selecting toys, and their efforts didn’t go unnoticed by Big W Inverell. After seeing the ladies shopping and hearing that they were donating to the local refuge, the store offered to contribute additional toys to help out.
“Often families arrive with nothing. The playroom provides a safe space for children to relax, be creative, and connect with their mothers and siblings,” said Jan McKay, Specialist Homelessness Service Coordinator. “This donation will make a significant difference for these families.”
