Pathfinders’ Support Your Path (SYP) team has been recognised as one of Australia’s leading regional disability service providers, taking home the 2026 Enablement Award for Most Outstanding Regional Not-for-Profit Providing NDIS Services for Children, Youth and Families for the second consecutive year.
Presented at the 2026 Enablement Awards in Sydney, the national award recognises excellence, innovation and outstanding outcomes across the disability care sector throughout Australasia.
Pathfinders Chief Executive Officer Alan Brennan said the award reflects the commitment of the entire Support Your Path team and the strong partnerships they have built with participants, families and carers.
“Winning this national award for the second consecutive year is a wonderful acknowledgement of the dedication, compassion and professionalism of our Support Your Path team,” Mr Brennan said.
“Our staff work closely with participants, families and carers to provide personalised supports that reflect each person’s individual goals, choices and circumstances.
“This recognition belongs to the entire team, as well as the participants and families who place their trust in Pathfinders and allow us to be part of their journey.”
Support Your Path currently supports around 200 participants across regional and rural New South Wales, delivering personalised NDIS supports throughout the Mid North Coast and New England North West.
What sets the program apart is its commitment to looking beyond traditional models of disability support and asking one simple question: “What would make a genuine difference to this person’s life?”
Rather than fitting participants into existing service models, Support Your Path designs supports around the individual. The team works alongside participants to build independence, strengthen relationships, increase community participation and develop the practical skills needed to achieve their own goals and aspirations.
The program recognises that quality support is about far more than delivering funded hours. It is about helping people build confidence, make choices, develop life skills and have greater control over where they live, who supports them and what their future looks like.
For the team, the greatest reward is seeing participants achieve things they may once have believed were out of reach. Whether it’s gaining the confidence to access the community independently, learning to manage a home, building employment skills or simply having someone who listens and respects their choices, every achievement represents another step towards greater independence and belonging.
Ultimately, Support Your Path focuses on creating opportunities rather than creating dependence—empowering participants to live meaningful, connected and self-directed lives.
Participant Kieran Smith said the award was well deserved.
“Pathfinders are the best support company in the whole entire Coffs Harbour region. SYP have good staff who are really encouraging and sometimes hilarious. I think they definitely deserved this award,” he said.
Working across regional communities also means understanding the unique challenges many participants face, including fewer local services and greater barriers to accessing support. Pathfinders remains committed to developing innovative, locally responsive services that ensure people with disability have the same opportunities to live meaningful, connected and independent lives as anyone else.
While the award recognises the success of the Support Your Path program, it also celebrates the achievements of the participants who inspire the team every day and the dedicated staff who work alongside them to make those achievements possible.
For Pathfinders, the recognition reinforces an ongoing commitment to challenging traditional approaches to disability support and continuing to place people at the centre of everything they do.
