Community Benefits Program

Last week Pathfinder hosted a Community Awareness Event in Campbell Park, Inverell. The event took place during GambleAware Week 2023 and aimed to raise awareness about risky gambling behaviors, empower individuals to recognise the signs of harm, and provide practical strategies for responsible gambling.

Last Friday local residents gathered to enjoy live music performed by Terra Firma, an Armidale-based band. The event provided information stalls from several local service providers who came down to support and provide valuable information about the services they offer in the Inverell community. Thank you to the local school groups, community members, and everyone who joined us in making this event a success. And congratulations to our lucky prize winner who walked away with a fabulous hamper filled with goodies.

Pathfinders is excited to be collaborating with GambleAware Hunter New England to deliver educational programs within schools. These programs will focus on early intervention and address potential issues related to online gambling, including its connection with online gaming. Additionally, the program will address critical concerns related to mental health and social media, ensuring that our young people are well-informed and equipped to navigate the complexities of the digital age.

Pathfinders will be rolling out Single Early Intervention workshops to ten primary schools, targeting Year 6 students across the New England area. These workshops will be conducted in partnership with a dedicated team from GambleAware.
