As we begin the new year, we want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible generosity shown by our communities and partner organisations during the recent holiday period. For many of the families and young people we support, this time of year can bring added pressure, and community support plays a vital role in helping them feel seen and supported.
Across our regions, this generosity made a meaningful difference. In Kempsey, the Dunghutti Elders Council kindly donated gifts for young people and families, which were distributed by our team prior to Christmas. Our Family Connect and Support team also prepared hampers for families in Port Macquarie and Kempsey, providing additional support during a busy and often challenging time.
In Armidale, our Aboriginal Early Years Program and the Armidale Youth Refuge received a generous donation of children’s clothing from ALDI. Staff thoughtfully wrapped the items into more than 60 individual gifts, which were shared throughout the Armidale community to support local children and young people. Woolworths also supported our Foster Care team through a generous donation that helped host our annual carers lunch, bringing children and carers together for a meaningful end-of-year celebration.

In Inverell, the Gem FM Christmas Toy Drive once again highlighted the strength of community spirit, with overwhelming support from local residents and businesses. Further contributions were received from Service NSW and the Inverell Aquatic Centre, whose local donation drive helped extend support to families engaged with our Homelessness Support Services, Women’s and Children’s Refuge, and young people in residential care.
Meanwhile, our new office in Palmerston, Northern Territory, was warmly welcomed into the community, with gifts donated through the local Giving Tree and shared with young clients and families connected to our programs in the region.
As we move into the year ahead, we would like to sincerely thank everyone who contributed. Your generosity made a lasting impact and helped ensure families and young people across our communities felt supported during the holiday period.
