Pathfinders is delighted to announce that we have been selected as finalists in several categories of the prestigious NSW Youth Work Awards, presented by Youth Action. These awards recognise our commitment to making a difference in the lives of young people, especially in regional areas.
Pathfinders’ Tilbuster Station has been named as a finalist in the category of “Outstanding Work with Young People from Diverse Cultures, Backgrounds, Experiences”. This recognition highlights the work our dedicated and experienced team of Youth Workers at Tilbuster Station provide to vulnerable and at-risk young people in Armidale and surrounding areas. Providing a space for young people to connect with their country and culture, participate in community activities, and range of agricultural activities tailored to build confidence, and positive self-esteem to help young people reach their full potential.
Pathfinders is committed to making a positive impact, and change to the lives of those we serve, and advocating for increased focus on addressing the complex challenges and issues within the social care landscape. We are honoured to be acknowledged as a Finalist in “Outstanding Work with Regional Young People”, and “Outstanding Youth Participation” emphasising the impact our community programs like the Annual Pathfinders’ Pumpkin Run which has seen significant growth in participation from disadvantaged and vulnerable young people coming together to give back to the communities in which they live.
Acknowledging the importance of ongoing participation in community and access to culturally appropriate services Pathfinders has proudly partnered with Armajun Aboriginal Health Service, the only Aboriginal Health Care organisation in the New England area. This deep commitment of Pathfinder’s and Armajun to enhance the well-being of children and young people in Out of Home Care by investing in cultural understanding to establish strong partnerships accredited as a finalist for “Outstanding Partnership”.
We are thrilled to share Pathfinders’ Armidale Out of Home Care Youth Worker Allira Slater’s volunteer work with Aboriginal young people in the Armidale community has seen her nominated as a Finalist for the “NSW Youth Sector Volunteer of the Year”. A proud Kamilaroi woman, Allira’s unique and judgment-free approach provides a safe environment where young people feel respected and where they can ignite their healing journey with a focus on reconnection to culture through supportive activities.
Pathfinders’ is honoured to be a part of the NSW Youth Work Awards, an event hosted annually by Youth Action to celebrate and recognise the outstanding work of youth services and youth workers across New South Wales.
