This year volunteers, staff, and young people participating in Pathfinders programs have grown a record-breaking 15 tons of pumpkins! All of the pumpkins will be gifted to charities and community groups to help those in need this winter with food relief.
The Pumpkin Run project was created by Pathfinders to support life skills programs Pathfinders provide to at-risk young people. The Pumpkin Run allows young people to gain agricultural skills, work experience, and a sense of community by giving back to the less fortunate.
This year the team is looking forward to hitting the road, leaving Armidale and heading to Newcastle and Sydney to deliver pumpkins to soup kitchens, nursing homes and charities before finishing the run at Government House on July 6 2023.
