At the start of September, staff from across our Inverell programs came together at Sinclair Park to support R U OK? Day by hosting a Community Breakfast.
The breakfast was organised by staff from Inverell Family & Youth Support Service, Aboriginal Early Years, Specialist Homelessness Support Service and Out of Home Care, with staff from each team coming along to help out and support the morning.
The event was a great opportunity for our teams to connect with the local community, with people dropping by for bacon and egg rolls, tea and coffee, wellbeing activities and a chat.
R U OK? Day is an important reminder to check in with the people around us and take the time to listen. A simple conversation can help someone feel supported and remind them that they don’t have to face things alone.
The morning also gave our teams an opportunity to share information, connect with community members and promote the importance of looking after our own wellbeing and checking in with others.
A big thank you to IGA Inverell, BIG W Inverell, Fair Dinkum Fresh & Co and The Bakers Loaf Inverell for supporting the breakfast and helping us bring the community together.
