Last Wednesday, Pathfinders recognised the International Day of People with Disability, a time to celebrate the contributions, achievements and strengths of people with disability, and to reflect on the importance of building communities where everyone feels they belong.
This year’s theme, “Fostering disability-inclusive societies for advancing social progress,” strongly aligns with our commitment to inclusion. Through our Support Your Path disability services, including Support Coordination, in-home and community support, life skills programs and employment pathways we see every day how inclusive practices empower individuals and strengthen communities.
While the day offers an important moment of recognition, disability inclusion is an ongoing commitment. It’s reflected in our services, our values and the way we work alongside participants, families and community partners. The day served as a meaningful reminder of the work we must continue to do: removing barriers, creating opportunities, and ensuring everyone can participate fully.
Thank you to all the staff who came together to mark the day. Your involvement helped create a positive and inclusive celebration for our teams and communities.
